Two snowdrops bow their heads above a nest of soft green moss, each petal cut from creamy opalescent glass and edged in copper foil, with leaves of leafy green and a tiny emerald bud. Handmade in the copper foil technique on our narrowboat studio, it's a little patch of the first thaw, kept in a small terracotta pot for good.
The snowdrop is the birth flower for January, a quiet bloom that pushes through frost to promise that brighter days are coming. It makes a thoughtful, personal gift for a January birthday, or for anyone who could use a little hope in the depths of winter.
A Christmas gift that lasts
Dressed in deep red velvet ribbon and natural jute twine, with a handwritten-style "January birth flower" tag, it arrives ready to wrap, and has just the right festive touch for a stocking, a place setting or beneath the tree. Unlike a bouquet, it never wilts, and it catches the winter light beautifully on a windowsill, mantelpiece or bedside table.
